About the Programme
What is “Education-Plus” Programme?
The key theme of the programme is fostering academia-industry collaboration for authentic learning experience.
The programme consists of four different components, including industrial seminars, hands-on workshops at industrial facilities, field visits at business facilities and schools, and symposiums on emerging technologies in education and beyond. Different industries/businesses will be invited as speakers to come on campus to share their practices of different emerging technologies to our students within or outside of formal courses.
It provides students with more opportunities to learn about emerging technologies in industries. It is beneficial to provide an impetus for all UGC-funded universities to harness innovative and breakthrough technologies such as generative AI, Web3, AR/VR, robotics and other emerging technologies in transforming teaching and learning, and in nurturing a digitally competent and technologically responsible generation, for the future success of our students in the digital economy.
Who is eligible to participate in the Programme?
All HKU students are eligible to join the Programme, while the following programmes in the Faculty of Education will receive the first priority to participate:
• Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (English Language/Chinese Language)
• Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science
• Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Special Education
• Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology
• Bachelor of Science in Information Management
• Bachelor of Science in Applied Child Development
• Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Social Data Science
• Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
• Master of Education (All specialisms)
• Master of Science in Audiology
• Master of Science in Technology, Design, and Leadership for Learning
• Master of Science in Library and Information Management
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education
What do you get after being participate in the Programme?
Students will receive a digital attendance certificate after participating in the activities. These activities help to learn more about new technology applications in education, improve digital literacy, enhance digital awareness, and prepare for future employment. These activities help open students’ horizons to emerging technologies in industries.
